Are you doing family history research from home? The library has a range of free resources available to assist and is now able to provide access to Find My Past to library members during the current closure of our branches. We have a complete list of resources and links available on our website.

Members are required to contact their local branch for access to Find My Past.

Muswellbrook library also has a family history contact form available for anything you are having trouble finding or if you would like us to search our printed archives during this closure.

Like the rest of Australia and all around the world, life in the Muswellbrook Shire is changing as a result of the evolving situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19). We know this is a difficult time for our community and we want to make sure you are able to access our Library services during this challenging time. Library members are able to access a range of online books, magazines and audio books via our platforms. We will also be trialling a Home delivery service for eligible customers within the Muswellbrook Shire. At this moment deliveries are limited to residents who live within the Muswellbrook and Denman townships however a review will be conducted in two months to determine whether this service can be extended to other residents across the Muswellbrook Shire Council areas.

At this challenging time, we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our community.
Please be advised that under State and Federal guidance, and to slow the spread of COVID-19 we have decided to close all branches of the Upper Hunter Library Network including Aberdeen, Cassilis, Denman, Merriwa, Muswellbrook, Murrurundi and Scone Libraries. Muswellbrook and Denman Libraries have closed to the public from 12noon, Monday 23rd March 2020 and all Upper Hunter Shire branches will be closed from close of business Monday, 23rd March 2020.
We understand that the uncertainty of the current situation is unsettling and will endeavour to provide information as it is made available. Library services continue to be available online via our website. Some services including housebound services will still run however we do not have any updates on these services at this time.

All items currently on loan have been renewed and no notices will be sent out during this closure period.

If you are isolated and are having difficulty accessing these online services or have any questions please call  Muswellbrook Library on 6543-1913 or Scone Library on 6540-1183 and we will assist you over the phone.

Commencing the 24th October 2019, Muswellbrook Library will now be open until 7pm on Thursday nights.
